He earned his Ph.D. from Stanford University and is a Fellow of the American Mathematical Society (AMS) and the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). A prominent figure in mathematics education, he has served as the First Vice-President of the Mathematical Association of America (MAA). He is the son of the renowned mathematician A.W. Tucker and has authored several influential textbooks in combinatorics and discrete mathematics.
